About Tillamook headlight. (Tillamook, Or.) 1888-1934 | View Entire Issue (March 26, 1903)
People of Tillamook and vicinity, we present to you a foremost
mercantile establishment “ The Greater Haltom’s Department Store.”
Our immense quarters are thrown open to-the public, and we enter upon
a broader field of achievement and usefulness. We desire that you honor us
w ith a visit, that you share with us the sweet fruits of a success so complete, so
encouraging, so flattering. We are proud of our present position as Tillamook’s
most progressive establishment, proud of our rise from comparative smallness
to acknowledged pre-eminenee ; proud of the splendid methods adopted by us
which have been the main-spring of this Store’s advancement. Yet, mingled
with this pride is a feeling of gratitude to our many customers, for their most
magnificent support and unswerving confidence, and now thank our friends for
their kindness to us in the past, and we’promise them that we shall endeavor in
the future to so conduct this business as to justify and fortify their good
opinion of us.
PRICES ARE LOWER
The Buyer for the Union of Stores, of which we are a member, over-estimated the amount of business to be done
in this vicinity, therefore over-stocked us. To unload, we’ve lowered the margin of profit considerably below our former
very low prices. This state of affairs means that your Dollars will do almost double duty now.
We quote prices on a few items to substantiate the above statement. Every item in the store at equally as big
