Large Number of Guests Witness the Marriage of Miss Maud Hadley and Mr. Fred Stallcop. The Allen House on Wednesday even ing presented a gay appearance, with a festoon of Chinese lanternson the outside and the inside artistically decorated with flowers and evergreens, trimmed with white sat n ribbon, gave an appearance« f fairyland. The occassion was the mar riage of Mr. Fred Stalkop and Miss Maud Hadley, daughter of Mr. C. B Hadley. The parlor of the hotel was packed with invited guests, while the corridor was crowded by those who were anxious to witness the ceremony. While the “Wedding March” was being played the bridesmaid ami best num, Miss Car- rie Kimball and Mr. Jos. Butts, entered the parlor from the balcony and took stations besidean arch of flowers, and being followed by the bride and groom, who came under the arch, all was readv for the ceremony. A hush of stillness and solemnity pervaded the happy oc casion as the Rev. Gabriel Sykes, pastor of the M.E.church, advanced to join two hands and two hearts in the bonds < f matrimony. The scene was impressive to relatives and those wl o loved and es teemed the >oung bride as the clergyman made them man and wile and prayed that heaven's richest blessings be show ered upon them. After the cereinoncy the happy couple received the congratu lations of the invited guests, the bride looking a picture ofswet tness in her corn colored silk dress trimmed with cheflbn. Mrs. William Stephens then entertained the guests with music and Miss Lily Baker sang the solo ‘‘Answer.’’ Adjourn ing to the dining hall, an elegant wed ding banquet had been prepared for the guests, and gathering around the festive board the company proceeded to enjoy one of the nicest banquets ever served in this citv. The happy couple have the best wishes of a large circle of friends in this city and county, the happy disposition of the biide making her a favoiite with the young people. Mr. ami Mrs. F. Stallcop will make their home at Independence, for which place they left to-day auiidst the showers of rice and old slippers. The Headlight extends its congratulations, and the editor s prayer lor the happy couple is that they may have a long life of happiness and that the union may prove a blessing and a joyous one to both.
