it can be taken out. Work upon
the construction of a new raft has
begun and the defects in the first
one will be avoided.
As compared with last years
summary the assessment shows an
increase of 17,929 acres of land

Improvements are valued at $23-,
320 more. Merchandise and im­
plements at $26,324 less. One more
horse or mule is assessed at a value
of 82,222 more. Money, notes, ac­
counts, shares of stock etc. are as­
sessed 8109,219 less. Household
furniture, carriages, are valued at
820,315 more. Cattle have in­
creased 778 and in value 83,635.
Sheep show an increase of 276,
valued at 585 dollars more. The
increase in the gross valuation is
only 110,176dollars more than last
year but the exemptions are 221-,
417 less leaving a total increase of
value in taxable property of 8331-,
683. The number of polls is the
same as last year.
