Grand Opening of the new Vernonia school Results from Jamboree Logging Show Scott Whitehead won the ti- tle of All Around Logger at the 2012 Vernonia Jamboree Log- ging Show. The father and son duo of Jeff and Arthur Fetter were the winners of the Max Sword Sportsmanship Award. Results (first, second, third) in individual events were as fol- lows: Men’s Axe Throw; Scott Whitehead, Erik Martin, Shane Holum. Kids’ Axe Throw; Kooper Whitehead, RJ Foster. 4-5 Working Saw; Kevin Dunnavin, Jesse Shaw, Dwayne Dethlefs. 5-6 Working Saw; Jesse See Logging, page 5 The grand opening ceremonies for the new Vernonia school will be held August 21, starting with speeches and a ribbon cut- ting ceremony at 10:00 a.m., followed by tours of the building and a light luncheon. The building will then be open for self- guided tours all afternoon. The first Town Hall in the new building will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with dessert and comments at 6:00 p.m. Come see the new Vernonia school before school officially starts on September 4.
