The INDEPENDENT, February 17, 2011 From the Sheriff’s Desk… Police/Court Abbreviations From page 18 the victim of a burglary to arrest an individual who was selling items stolen from the victim's residence. The victim had been alerted to the suspect by a local archery shop after the suspect at- tempted to sell some stolen bows at the shop. The victim worked with the Sheriff’s Office to set up a “buy” from the suspect. The suspect attempted to sell the property (unwittingly) back to the victim. Sheriff’s Deputies in waiting converged on the suspect and took him into custody near milepost 53 on Highway 30. At the time of arrest he was also found to be in possession of Methampheta- mine. Jan. 26 – Resident on Lone Pine Rd reported his house had been broken into while he was gone and he found several broken windows and missing items; pending further informa- tion. Feb. 5 – MVA at MP 8 on Scappoose/Vernonia Hwy. with vehicle upside down on the highway, the uninjured driv- er was out of the vehicle; local tow company was called.
