The postmark incorporates an outline of the state’s bound- ary, which will be used to frame the entire Oregon Statehood stamp image. All 326 Oregon Post Offices are participating in the event. Each postmark will include the city and ZIP Code informa- tion for each participating Post Office. The postmark may be used for mailing items on January 14, and will be available to col- lectors for an additional 60 days at each Post Office. Stamp collectors may contact their local Post Office for de- tails. To further celebrate the is- suance of the stamp and the special postmark, several Post Offices around the state are hosting special local events on January 14. The Vernonia Post Office will host a celebration on January 22 at 11:00 a.m. in honor of the Sesquicentennial stamp. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the guest speak- ers, door prizes, and cake. 10 am - 7 pm Mon. - Fri. 10 am - 6 pm Saturday Closed Sundays VISA/Mastercard Accepted The Vernonia Community Choir is ready to start practic- ing for the annual Easter Musi- cal Drama. Their concert this year will be “Bow The Knee” by songwriter Chris Machen. “Bow The Knee” features 10 powerful new songs. The mov- ing story culminates in the dra- matic and joyful resurrection of Christ. The choir encourages all singers to join. The production also needs people who would like to act, sew costumes, work behind the scenes or help with lights and video.
