The most common symp- toms of carbon monoxide poi- soning are headache, dizzi- ness, weakness, nausea, vom- iting, chest pain ad confusion. However, people who are sleeping or who have been drinking alcohol can die from poisoning before even having symptoms. 10 people died of uninten- tional carbon monoxide poison- ing following Hurricanes Rita and Katrina in the Gulf Coast. These include heaters that run on gas, kerosene, propane, or natural gas. • Flood-damaged debris can be placed in normal garbage or taken to regular waster collec- tion and transfer stations.
