Burning is now regulated on a day-to-day basis by the local fire districts and the Oregon Department of Forestry. Per- mits are required for any open burning within Columbia Coun- ty. The burning of domestic waste and yard debris requires a valid permit. For those out- side of rural fire districts, the Department of Forestry issues the permits.
