April 14 – Talked with juvenile at VHS regarding a pipe with marijua- na residue; report forwarded to Col. Co. Juvenile Dept. – Riverside Dr. resident report- ed theft of tool box, tools and pellet gun. No suspects at this time. April 16 – Michelle Shipley, no age given, Scappoose, warrant arrest. – Richard Holszner, no age given, St. Helens, arrested for parole violation; taken to CCSO jail. – Two juveniles allegedly observed breaking glass at Wauna Credit Union. Referred to Col. Co. Juvenile Dept. April 17 – Derrick Wayne Minchue, no age given, address unknown, arrested on parole/pro- bation violation warrant; taken to CCSO jail. April 24 – Investigated death. April 27 – Investigated injury motorcycle accident on Timber Rd. as no County units were available. April 28 – Kyle Christopher Atkins, no age given, no address given, arrested on Washington Co. warrant; taken to CCSO jail. Page 21 Single car crash results in death A single vehicle, rollover crash on Boeck Road, outside of Vernonia, resulted in the death of the driver, Christopher Paul Edwards, 32, of Portland. Edwards’ 2001 Dodge Ram pick-up left the roadway and went over an embankment at about 4:00 a.m. April 17. Passengers in the vehicle, Molly Kay Wolfe, 25; Shawn Michael Hartman, 32; and Jailee Inette Slaughter, 21, all of Vernonia, were transported to Emanuel Hospital in Portland by MetroWest Ambulances. According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s office, alcohol appears to have been a con- tributing factor in the crash. The Oregon State Police, Vernonia Police Department, Vernonia Rural Fire Protection District and the Mist-Birkenfeld Rural Fire Protection District all assisted with the call.
