Single car crash results in death
A single vehicle, rollover
crash on Boeck Road, outside
of Vernonia, resulted in the
death of the driver, Christopher
Paul Edwards, 32, of Portland.
Edwards’ 2001 Dodge Ram
pick-up left the roadway and
went over an embankment at
about 4:00 a.m. April 17.
Passengers in the vehicle,
Molly Kay Wolfe, 25; Shawn
Michael Hartman, 32; and
Jailee Inette Slaughter, 21, all
of Vernonia, were transported
to Emanuel Hospital in
Portland
by
MetroWest
Ambulances.
According to the Columbia
County Sheriff’s office, alcohol
appears to have been a con-
tributing factor in the crash.
The Oregon State Police,
Vernonia Police Department,
Vernonia Rural Fire Protection
District and the Mist-Birkenfeld
Rural Fire Protection District all
assisted with the call.
