She grew up in Lathan. She married Cecil James Eddy and they lived in Black Butte and Cornu copia. After his death, in 1941, she moved to Cottage Grove and worked as a postal clerk and a waitress. In 1946, she married Floren Joseph “Jack” Wendling. They lived in Cottage Grove until 1951, when he re-entered the military and they moved to Mon terey, Calif., Hawaii and LaGrande. In 1970, they moved to Vernonia. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, in 1996; a son, Cecil James, Jr.; a sister, Bernice Perenie. Survivors include a son, John “Tom" of Meridian, Idaho; two daughters, Bet ty Miner of Vernonia, and Marguerite Gibson of Beaverton; seven grandchil dren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. GUERNSEY Stefanie Clara Guernsey, 21, Man ning, died June 25, 2003, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. A celebration of life was held at the Church of Christ in Forest Grove, with Jim Kent officiating. Interment was pri vate. Ms. Guernsey was born December 24, 1981, in Portland, to Andy Shelton and Carlene Cruz. She attended Moo- berry Elementary School in Hillsboro and Forest Grove High School. She was a production technician at Merix Corporation and was a member of the Church of Christ in Forest Grove. A memorial service was held July 12 at Grace Baptist Church in Dallas. Mr. Clark was bom September 2, 1926, in Vernonia. He graduated from Vernonia High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he moved to Hillsboro, where he, his father and brothers, started Weaver Clark & Sons Lumber. After the mill closed, he continued logging. After re tiring, he moved to Alaska, Bend and, in 2000, to McMinnville. In 1946, he married Bonnie Nadine Calkins. They later divorced. In 1994, he married Vicki Meeker. He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl, in 1992. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Loretta Clark, Wanda Harri son and Verna Behm; two sons, Wayne and Lance; brothers, Dale and Kyle; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. Arrangements by Macy & Son. KENNETH W. WEBB Kenneth Wayne Webb, 69, Banks, died June 29, 2003. A celebration of his life was held July 2 at Fuiten, Rose and Hoyt Funeral Home in Forest Grove, with Pastor Ken Chism officiating. A flag honor presentation was made by Amer ican Legion Washington Post 2. "A Trusted Name in Funeral Service " ___ —_ Mr. Webb was bom September 14, 1933, in Stigler, Okla., to Benjamin and Lela Tucker Webb. When he was nine, the family moved to Peoria, Ariz., where he completed his education. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry for two years during the Korean conflict and was discharged as a corporal in 1955. In 1951, he married Ruby J. Braden. They lived in Peoria until mov ing to Western Washington County in 1960. They lived in Gaston and Forest Grove before moving to Banks. Mr. Webb was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Union Local 170 in Portland. He retired in 1995. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Joyce Webb in 1957, and DiAnna Jean Irwin in 1997. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cathy J. of Banks, Janet L. Gregory of Yamhill, and Karen M. Cla- son of Hillsboro; a brother, Harold of- Peoria.Ariz.; a sister, Mary Barker of McAlester, Okla.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Recita tion of the rosary and a mass were held July 7 at Visitation Catholic Church, with Father Scott Vandehey, celebrant. Interment was in Visitation Cemetery. Mr. VanGrunsven was born October 6, 1915, near Verboort, to Antone and Anna Cosmans VanGrunsven. He at tended Verboort Grade School. In 1940, he married Genevieve Josephine Seus. They lived in Cor nelius and moved to Verboort in 1943. He worked at Bird’s Eye Cannery in Hillsboro and then began farming full time. After retiring from farming, he worked for Van Dyke Seed Company in Forest Grove. Mr. VanGrunsven was a coach for baseball teams in Verboort and Banks. He helped design Sunset Grove Golf Course and managed it for three years, then helped design Killarney West Golf Course. Mr. VanGrunsven was preceded in death by his wife in 1994; three sisters, Christine Giesbers, Anne Desinger and Delia Burns; and a brother, Bernard. Survivors include four sons, Ron of Fruitdale, Idaho, Jim of Molalla, Ken and Tom of Forest Grove; six daugh ters. Betty Vandecoevering, Linda Spiering and Pat Soto, ail of Forest Grove, Joanne Vandehey of Cornelius, Mary Morse of Aloha, and Barb Jansen of Hillsboro; 17 grandchildren; a broth er, Tony of Hillsboro; nieces and nephews.
