I have flats and flats of beautiful plants from the WGS sale (Thanks, Kathi), brassicas inside that need to go outside, and tomatoes to pot up into 4” pots and put under lights for a couple weeks. AND it’s time to plant most of the seeds that I want to put in this year, though it may still be a little early for corn and cu cumbers unless you have a great southern exposure. It’s really hard to tell though. You have to know your own microclimate and be prepared to rush outside and cover tender plants. I was right about the nasturtiums though, nearly all of them came up! I have to tell you about the salad green I discovered this year. The top 2 - 3” of pea vines is crunchy and yummy raw in salads and is supposed to be good stir-fried. I’m hoping that an added benefit is that the vines will branch and make more peas. Time to go play in the dirt. Get outside and plant stuff, put the houseplants out for vacation, and enjoy the weather. Next month: this year’s solanaceae trials. LANDSCAPING? WE’VE GOT IT! Lee Knowlton, Branch President 1350 E.
