Page 18 The INDEPENDENT, April 3, 2003 Boat registrations may now be renewed on-line Oregon boaters can renew their boat registration online via the Oregon State Marine Board at <www.boatoregon.com>. The new service is called “RegLine.” “The system is simple, safe and secure," said Janess Eil- ers, Registration Program Man ager for the Oregon State Ma rine Board, “more than 200 boaters have used it since it went online March 7." Boaters can still renew their registration by mail or by visit ing a registration agent or the Oregon State Marine Board of- fice in Salem. “This is just one more option available to boaters,” said Eilers. “ It’s a very friendly, efficient design, but it doesn’t replace other options.” The service was created in partnership with Internet soft ware developer Code-lt. The partnership is a first-of-its-kind in state government, adhering to rigorous standards set by the Department of Administrative Services. The Marine Board had no up-front fees to develop the site.
