Upset by neighbors’ report to police dept. To the Editor: “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR” is a value that I felt, until last week, the people of Vernonia not only exhibited, but lived for. A value that makes our community a strong one. However, I was dis gusted and hurt to find that the trust and friendship that our community is based on was vi olated and broken in the most spiteful manner. Yes, my fellow Vernonia residents, lurking on 1st Avenue are two women who were immature and irre sponsible enough to break this trust for vindictive and vengeful means. Just last week, while I was riding on my lawnmower and holding my 11 month old son on my lap, across the street, a neighbor sat and plotted with her friend. This so called neigh bor convinced her friend to phone the police department and complain that I was endan gering my child. Please don’t m isconstrue my feelings. It does not bother me to have neighbors with concern for my family.
