She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long. She will join a brother, Brett Elliott, at the family home in Vernonia. Grandparents are Jim and Lori Walters and Steve and Lynn Stegmann, all of Vernonia. Great-grandparents are Bunny Stegmann and Gertie Lucius, both of Solon Springs, Wise., Shirley Darling of Mil waukie, Joe and Gail Walters of Waldport and Peter and Kathy Ottoboni of Portland. Marjorie Carmen Vega-Wysong Marjorie Carmen Vega- Wysong was born December 27, 2001, to Carlos Santiago Vega-Cortes and Meghan Mar jorie Wysong of Portland. She weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 20-1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Dick and Marjorie Wysong of Vernonia and Luis Vega and Ramona DeCarmen-Cortes of Coquim- bo, Chile. Whitley Kay Tolonen Whitley Kay Tolonen was born January 9, 2002, to Craig and Tonya Tolonen of Vernonia. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 oz., and was 19 inches long. She will join her brother, Chase, at home in Vernonia. Grandparents are Buck and Pam Ferguson of Klamath Falls and Arnold and Mary Tolonen of Vernonia. Great-grandparents are Evelyn Williams and Wayne Tolonen, both of Astoria, Lola Ferguson of Rocklin, Calif., and lone Larsen of Grass Valley, Calif. Christian group plans 1940s Swing Dance Christian Connection Min istries is sponsoring a 1940s Swing Dance at Portland State University’s Smith Memorial Ballroom on Saturday, January 19. The evening’s fun will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a swing les son, followed by dancing from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. The cost is $10 per person ($2 off with student ID).
