Habitat for Humanity is unique in the way it recycles donations from the community. Money raised to build the house in St. Helens will come back to the organization in the form of mortgage payments. “It is nice to know that my mort gage payments will be used to build a house for another fami ly,” said Rye. Although Columbia County Habitat for Humanity is affiliat ed with the International Habi tat for Humanity organization, it receives no financial support from outside the County. An additional $45,000 is needed to complete the house. The build ing site is located at 145 South 3rd Street in St. Helens. To make a donation toward the construction of the St. Helens house, mail a check payable to Columbia County Habitat for Humanity to P. O. Box 921, St. Helens, OR 97051.
