The INDEPENDENT, October 21, 1998 Page 11 Lady Loggers setting the pace for Northwest League volleyball Vemonia’s Lady Loggers, a finely-tuned volleyball mach ine, are dominating NW League play and remain the only undefeated team, sporting an 8-0 record. “Way to go players!” said their proud head coach, Michelle Kunkel. “ It’s clear from our stats...even with one player dominating in each game, there’s always a range of hit ters in every game,” said Kunkel. “This team has amaz ing depth. Bench support is incredible.” Vernonians were treated to an exciting evening of volley ball Oct. 15, when the Lady Loggers blew-out the NW League’s second place team, City Christian (formerly Temple Christian), 15-0, 15-6. ing ace’ for everyone present. The Lady Lions came out stronger in game two and made Vernonia work for a few points but, with all due respect for their strength against the rest of the NW League — the Lions were at Vernonia’s mercy every step of the way. In game one, Prpich scored seven points and Budinska five. The team committed just three serving errors.
