Possible domestic dispute on Madison Ave., suspect stopped while driving from residence; Thomas Doyle, Vernonia, arrested for DWS- Felony, taken CCSO jail. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended; $1,000 fine, suspended. One year bench probation and court di version. If he completes his GED and receives his certifi cate by June, 1997, all charges will be dismissed. Kelly K. Castro, Vernonia, was sentenced, after trial on a charge of Disorderly Conduct, to 90 days in jail, suspended; $500 fine, suspended. One year bench probation and re payment of court appointed attorney fees. Dawn R. Richardson, Ver nonia, was sentenced after trial on two misdemeanor charges; Disorderly Conduct, 180 days in jail, suspended to three days; $1,000 fine sus pended to three years bench probation. Violation of Previ ous Sentence Order, 180 days in jail, suspended to two days; comply completely with previous sentence orders, three year bench probation. Douglas R. Leach, Vernon ia, pleaded guilty to Allowing a Dog to Run at Large. Dog has been removed, case dis missed; 30 days bench pro bation. Traffic citations......... 9 October 15,1996 Steven E. Wolf, Vernonia, pleaded guilty to DUII and dri ving without headlights. Sen tenced to $321 fine, diver sion, alcohol evaluation and treatment, 90 day license suspension and one session with the Victim Impact Panel. Dismissed charge of driving without headlights. Minors in Possession of Tobacco: Seven minors pleaded guilty to the charge. Each was fined $100, sus pended, and six months pro bation. Fine and charges will be dismissed if they complete thesix months with no further tobacco citations. Traffic citations.......... 2 MADD donates intoxilyzer units Two portable intoxilyzer units have been donated to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office by the Columbia Coun ty Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The intoxilyzer units will be used by deputies to enforce under-age drinking laws at al cohol parties attended by mi nors. Prior to receiving the portable units, deputies had to rely on their sense of smell to determine if a person had consumed alcohol. The intox ilyzer units will provide a much more accurate tool to determine if someone has been consuming alcohol. The local MADD Chapter purchased three portable units at a total cost of $753.00.
