All areas of the park will remain open during the four-week paving project; park visitors are asked to be careful when driving near work crews and may experi- ence short delays due to con- struction traffi c control. Ballots for the Nov. 5 special election will be mailed out to Clatsop County voters who are in the Gearhart Rural Fire Protection District or the Warrenton Rural Fire Protection District. Completed ballots can be dropped in offi cial drop boxes, including inside Seaside City Hall in a drop box at the counter. Local Seaside company Bayview Asphalt has been contracted to complete the paving work. Justin Parker, manager at the park, says the paving work is part of preparations for the larger South Jetty Major Reha- bilitation Project, led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers The rehabilitation project is slated to begin Nov. 1. More information about the park is on oregonstate- parks.org. USACE/Ed Saldan The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is staging equipment and material to repair the 100-year-old navigation structure. No injuries were re- ported by the driver or another passenger, a 62-year-old man from Hillsboro. Woman charged with DUII On Oct. 12, at 11:29 p.m., on Highway 26, MP 21, Breda Joyce Davis Maloney, 25, was arrested and charged with DUII-Alcohol after an Oregon State trooper driving behind her noticed her braking for no reason and driv- ing slowly. Upon contact, police say Maloney appeared to be under the infl uence of intoxi- cants. After performing poorly on a fi eld sobriety test, she was placed under arrest and trans- ported to Seaside police head- quarters where she provided a blood alcohol contest of .16%. She was released to a sober adult after receiving criminal citations for DUII and reckless endangerment. Her vehicle was towed from the scene by Classic Towing. Seaside woman charged with DUII-Alcohol OREGON STATE POLICE PUBLIC SAFETY LOG Beaverton man blacks out, resulting in rollover crash On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 8:24 p.m. on Highway 26, MP 24, a 65-year- old man from Beaverton was traveling eastbound when he blacked out and crashed into the eastbound ditch, his Toyo- ta Camry rolling as it traveled through the ditch. One of his passengers, a female whose age and address were not available, complained of pain to her back and neck. She was transported On Sunday, Oct. 13, at 4:42 p.m., on Highway 101 and Sunset Beach Lane, Victoria Frances Crist, 25 from Seaside, was ar- rested and charged with DUII-Al- cohol after Oregon State police responded to a report of a one vehicle crash. After undergoing a fi eld sobriety test, Crist was determined to be intoxicated; she was transported to the Sea- side police headquarters where she underwent a chemical test showing her B.A.C. .20%. Crist was issued a criminal citation for DUII as well as violation citations for open container. Her vehicle was towed from the scene by Aff ordable Towing.
