By 11ISHOP JAMKS CANNON MA KLIN, Teiai. Jan. -20. The positive statements tliit the commi.-sion is oppo;-ed to re peal of the IMh amendment, restoration of the legalized sa loon, to federal or state owner Hiiiji, and to the legalization ot the manufacture end tale of light wines and beer are all eminently satisfactory. Rut it la impossible to main tain these positions if the ISth amend mc-nt is revised to givt. congress power to regulate or prohibit traffic in intoiicaiit. Should congress decide to pvrmit traffic under federal or state regulations, the traffic must be Uiider either private or fctate ownership and both manufacture and sale necessitate places for distribution which will actually he saloons, by what-v-r name they are called.
