and earn a prize. The News reserves Ihe right to reject obj.-ctionablc nominations.
2. The winners of all prizes w ill be decliliil by votes b. i..K presented by ballots Issued for subscription collections
and by coutmiis clipped, and by bonus vole offers.
8. Contestants an- not confined to their own particular territory, town, community or district to secure votes nml
subscriptions, but may take orders anywhere In this section or for thai matter anywhere in the state or Initcd States.
4. Cash most accompany all orders where votes are desired. There will be no excepllon to this rule. Contratanta
will be allowed to collect back subscriptions and renewals as well as entirely new subscriptions, and votes will be issued on
both, and in addition bonus votes will be Issued on subscription collections.
5. Votes are free. Ask for them when pavlnR your subscription, otherwise you will waive the privilege. Votes
will not be Issued on receipt covering payments made prior to the bcglui.liig of the campaign.
n. Voles cannot be purchased, every cent accepted though the Contest Department must represent a subscription
payment! cither new or old. No subscription will be accepted for less than three months nor for mure than five years in
advance from any contestant.
7 Voles are not transferable. ('oiu.-slanls cannot withdraw in favor of any olher candidate. Should a contestant
withdraw from the rare. Ids or her credits will be cancelled. Neither will It he H-r,uissable for a contestant to give or
transfer n subscription to another contestant. Votes on such transferred subscription will be subject to disqualification at

8. Any collusion on Hie part of contesianls to the detriment of other candidates or to the News will not be tolerated.
Any contestant or contestants entering or taking part In such a combination will forfeit all right to a prize or a commission.

rrelion of the candidate or suliscrlher, subject to the contest manager's decision. No contestant can poll more than 30,000
votes in any 24 hours above tho leader in the previous published report.
10. In the event of a tie for any of the prizes, a prize Identical in value will be awarded each tying contestant.
11. Every contestant In this contest is an authorized agent of The News, and ns such may collect arrearages and ad
vance subscription payments from present subscribers as well as from new subscribers.
