Bunnell And Short Ask Forest Service To Aid Malin Road County Judge Bunnell and Com missioner Burrell Short returned last week from Portland where they conferred with officials of the federal forest service in the Inter ests of the Malln-Bieber road. While the bill ha. passed both houses making this road a primary state highway of the class "A" division, the governor ha. previously an nounced hi. intention to veto the measure. It is hoped that federal forest Bervice officials can use their Myers yesterday by Cassidy, and it was based on this letter that Myers recommended dropping of the charges. "In reference to the case of the state of Oregon vs. B. F. Moe, now pending in Justice court for Linkrille district, Klamath county, Oregon, I desire to state that Mr. B. F. Moe has made full and com plete settlement and payment of all accounts or funds due the Pine Tree Theatre, Inc., of Saa Francisco. "Mr. Moe has explained the differences in account with oar company, which arose over various sight drafts and checks given by Mr. Moe at various times, which he had reason to believe would be honored and tor unexpected reasons, were not honored on presenta tion. Upon investigation we find such drafts and checks were issued by him through the First National bank of Klamath Falls, Oregon. I further find from Mr. Moe's statement, which have been corrobor ated, that some difference, in account arose through a misunder standing and negligence in bookkeeping records on his part. Mr. Moe states that there was no criminal Intent to defraud the Pine Tree theatre and we are disposed to accept this statement. Owing to the fact that all accounts have been adjusted satisfactory to the com pany, and the further fact that upon his arrest, he voluntarily re turned to Klamath Falls, we are inclined to believe that there waa no criminal intent upon his part and hence would recommend that the criminal proceeding now pending against B. It is not only the purpose, but the duty of a newspaper to print such, stories. Telegrams had been sent to cities all along the coast, asking for Moe's apprehension, and charging him with felony. The word of George Mann was pledged at the sheriff's office to sign the complaint in case Poole did not. But "Bud" Moe has been exonerated by the courts. The News wishes to be among the first to congratulate "Bud," and wishes him every success in the world in whatever lies in future.
