Dummy showed up with the queen of spades, but unfor tunately it was a singleton. West played his ace and re turned the suit and spades were established against me. Of course, 1 did have 10 top triaks and proceeded to run them off, but had 4 barred the spade lead I would surely have made at least one trick more than 1 did gather and in dup licate those extra tricks are right important. i While this article is on mis takes I want to point out that my partner's raise to three no trump was the correct bid with his hand.
