Pelican, Hornet Matmen Travel For Cavemen Invitational Meet Tlie Henley Hornets and the Klamath Falls Pelicans head for Grants Pass today for the annual Caveman Invitational mat tournament which calls seven grappling eams from Oregon and California. For Boh Creed's Hornets, the tournament will mark the first test of the season, while De Lance Duncan's strong Klamath Kails Pels enter their second meeting of the young season. Last weekend, the Pelicans traveled to Portland for the an nual David Douglas tournament and ended a close second be hind the host Scots among some of the top teams in the state. The Pelicans, based upon their third place finish in the state last year and their fine showing in the Portland 'Tour nament of Champions" last weekend, are considered co-fa-Sorites with the host Cavemen for tournament honors tonight. Hie Hoi nets will face the ju nior varsity teams of the larger .VI scliool squads, with the tour nament divided into A and B classifications. "1 hope he wins tlie batting title next year," said plaintiff Earl Lawson, after a jury failed to return a verdict Thursday. "I never questioned his base ball ability." The judge set Jan. 28 for the second trial on the assault and battery charges.
