Pioneer League President Sees Death Of Circuit Now Certain SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) -President Claude Engberg of the Pioneer League said today there was no hope for survival of the Class A circuit which gave birth to many of base ball's top stars. Engberg, head of the league which has been in operation since 1939, said he was in formed by the National Associ ation office that sufficient work ing agreements will not be available for the operation of the league in 1964. Hergert scored five touch downs and gained 150 yards as the Pioneers whipped Pacific Lutheran 63-27 Saturday. Reich hauled down eight passes for 7.1 yards in the Missionaries' 38-7 loss to Whitworlh. Hergert's rampage made him the league's rushing and scor ing leader. He now has gained 444 yards in five games and has a 4.9 average per carry. He has scored 12 touchdowns (or 72 points. Teammate Bill Henselman is the passing leader with 41 com pletions in 61 attempts for 632 yards and eight touchdowns.
