I STATE CHAMPIONS The FOE 2090 Ladies Auxiliary took state championships in Class A-2 for officers and drill teams at the recent state convention at Coos Bay. Oregon i ffC Yf rWi Club Lists Programs DUNSMUIR - Concerns of youth and community will pro vide program topics for the luncheon meetings of the Dunsmuir Women's Club. Tenta tive programs for the year were distributed at the first fall lunclwon Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Travelers Hotel. At this meeting. Kathy Harris, participant in t h e Americans Abroad program of the Ameri can Field Service, told of expe riences while living with a fam ily in Norway last summer. She showed colored slides to illus trate her talk. In November. Jess Brewer, Siskiyou County probation of ficer, will discuss youth prob lems. The Girl Scouts have been asked to provide the December program. The Eye Bank is slated as January's topic and in Febru ary the club will hear Jose Sal deno. Venezuelan student spend ing the year in Dunsmuir as an American Field Service student Assistance with the local AFS program has been a club project for six years. A speaker from the California Federation of Women's Clubs will discuss family living in March. Art in the home Is the April subject Flowers and gardens will be the May program and the year will conclude with a picnic and round table discussion in June. Roll call was answered by nam ing a mountain shrub members had come to know. During the business meeting the president, Mrs. J. Walter Brown, ing gave a' review of recent gar den tours. Important dates of no tice were given by Mrs. E. C. Schweitzer and the Oregon News Letter was discussed. Mrs. Harold Kniskcrn volun teered to chairman the club spon sorship of a Camp Fire group. Mrs. J. Perry Haley, horticul- OVER THE GARDEN GATE lure chairman, reported on the hi biscus, the club study, and also gave brief tips on the care and horticulture of chrysanthemums. A note was sent to Mrs. Louis Kalina and her committee thank ing them for making corsages for the Parents and Patrons teachers' reception. The program of the day fea tured a little flower show, "High Hill Reveries." Mrs. Schweitzer and Mrs. Silver McFall of Tule lake served as judges. On Oct. 24, the club will meet w ith Mrs. Joe Halousok. Mrs. Joe Micka will be co-hostess. MT. LAKI GARDEN CLl'B The Mt. Laki Garden Club's small flower show was held on the patio at the home of Mrs. Ever ett Jones in September. There were 30 exhibits in the artistic division and 54 in the horticulture division. Mrs. Scott McKendrce, Mrs. E. C. Schweitzer and Mrs. Earl McFall judged the show and later orally evaluated the entries for the members. The club visited the gardens o( Mrs. R. Ewing and Mrs. 'Pete Camifc while the show was being judged. A business meeting was held in the afternoon and Mrs. McKendree talked to the club about the prog ress of the Nature Trail project at Moore Park. Ext.
