DENNIS THE MENACE 'MOMIM BOTTOM Ml OlM THE BIRO CASE' In This Case Three's A Crowd By ANN LANDERS Dear Ann Landers: I have a hunch that letter from the un happy widow who moved in with n e r cmiaren was written Dy my mother - in-! . law. My mother-in-law has Jieen with us only five months and al ready I am developing ulcers. She tells the children what to wear, how to speak and with whom to associate. She still calls my husband "Sonny" which burns me up and she has taken to making special dishes for his. According to her, "Nobody cooks like a boy's mother." My husband and I used to get along beautifully. Now we arc arguing and all the arguments are about his mother. So you see Ann, she is not the only one who is miserable. Now, how do I tell her to move without elienat ing my husband forever? ALSO MISERABLE Dear Miserable: When a third party be it mother, mother-in-law, uncle, cousin or whoever presents a threat to a marriage the third party must be removed, Inviting your mother-in-law lO live with vou was a mistake, ine sooner it Is admitted-and recti- Big Scenic Cave Also Versatile BURNET, Tex. Dear Ann Landers: I've been dating a man tor almost a year. We plan to be married in a few months. My fiance lives at home with his folks. His father had a house guest for several days and the guest shared my fiance's bed room. Yesterday the guest left and my boy friend told me some thing which has made me a nervous wrecK. Tins guest was supposedly invited to stay with them and recuperate from an op eration in an Army hospital, but: the truth is that he was recently discharged from a leprosari um. I love my boy friend and I want to marry him but he has been living with a leper for a week and seeing me at the same time. Maybe I have already caught the loathesome disease. Perhaps I have already passed it on to members of my family Please tell me what to do. But don't print my name, initials or city because my friends and fam ily will be just as panicky as 1 am. NAMELESS Dear Nameless: Relax, Han sen's disease (they don't call it leprosy anymore) is one of the least communicable diseases known (o medical science. Many wives who visited their husbands in the leprosarium in Carville, La., have tried to get the disease so they, too, might be Incarcer ated but not one has succeeded No patient is released from a leprosarium in an infectious state, The man who shared your fi ance's room was probably less of a threat to his health than most of the people he encounters during his working day. Dear Ann Landers: 1 am a 16- year-old girl who is going with a very nice any. Ted and I arc not going steady just steadily. Last week Ted bought me a ring with a small diamond as a symbol of our friendship. When mv cminrp nld man saw it he hjl the roo He that tthere he comes from, a ring with a diamond, no matter how small means engagement and he or dered me to give it back. Several of my girl friends arc wearing rings and I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be allowed to. Do you? BABY FOREVER Dear Babv: Yes, I see one darned good reason. Your father doesn't approve of it. Now give it back. If alcohol is robbing you or someone you love of health and dignity, send for Ann Landers' booklet, "Help For The Alco holic," enclosing with your re quest 20 cents in coin and a long, self-addressed, stamped envelope. Ann Landers will be glad to help you with your problems. Send them to her in care of this newspaper enclosing a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
