HERALD AND U.S. Rejects Japanese Suggestions TOKYO (UPI) The United States rejected as "inadequate" Tuesday modifications proposed by Japan to a new North Pacific fishery convention. ""he communique said, however, i.iit U.S. was "encouraged that the differences between the post lions of the three delegations were reduced to some extent" by the proposals made by the Japa nese and Canadian delegations to the current fishery talks. But the chairman of the U.S. delegation added that the Japa nese proposals "were in nis view inadeauata in that they did not resolve certain problems of salm on and halibut," the communique said. ; "He then suggested that in view of the importance of the continu ing problems the meeting should give consideration to its future course."
