Cedarville Playing Host To Three-Day Modoc Fair ALTURAS - Nestled snuglyi against the foot of the Warnerj Mountains with a backdrop of the aiuie eoloi-s of the stately mountain peaks, the Modoc Coun ty Fairgrounds is a picture of the living west. Here in this pictur esque setting in the sleepy west ern town of Cedarville, entertain ment, excitement, and fun galore is in store for all as Modoc Coun ty springs to life Aug, 23, 24, and 25 or the annual Modoc Coun ty Fair. This year as always the fair will cater to young and old alike with every type of entertainment to fit the taste of the most rugged buckaroo or the cosmopolite. The lovers of the old west will thrill to the drama of the most west ern amateur rodeo to be held in the northwest featuring the wild and wnoly bucking string of Dick Henley High Reunion Dated Ij'e first five-year reunion (or the Henley High School class of 1958 will he held at the Malin Park, Sunday, Aug. 18, starting at 10 a.m. Bruce Durant , was the senior class president. There were 40 members. A number of out-of-town mem bers are expected. Hemstcad. The rodeo with wild saddle bronc riding, calf roping, bull riding, bareback riding and team roping will be held Saturday and Minday afternoons. Each afternoon at the rodeol as an added feature Captain Jim Jamison, the world famous dare devil diver will dive from a 100 foot tower into a six foot deep tun of water covered with blaz ing gasoline. Jenie I-egon with Colypso songs. voodoo chants, and a complete ar ray of native dancers will put on a stage show Friday evening at the horse show arena. With Jeni will he the Fiesta orchestra and steel hand along with the wierd and rhythmic talking drums. Just for the kiddies and youngl at heart the Winstons will enter tain on the grounds Saturday and Sunday with their musical nov elty's and rides in the Tooner ville trolly. Also for real county fair fun. Medals the clown will entertain on the gay way the three days. The Roberts Carnival, a horse show Friday afternoon and 43 ex hiblts in the fair buildings will add more and more entertainment to the fun filled three days. Topping the three - day event will be the mile long parade down the streets of Cedarville to the fairgrounds Sunday morning. Leading the parade will be the ltlli.3 fair queen Mary Lou Mapes and her two princesses Kelle Sig- LAUGHS FROM MEDALS Medals the Clown will be one of the star attractions Aug. 23, 24 and 25 at the Modoc County Fair in Cedarville. Medals will be featured on the "Gay Way" each day. Icr and Diana Stevenson. The Shasta County Sheriffs Posse-ettes made up of 24 cowgirls will ride in the parade and drill for the crowd at the nxleo in the afternoon.
