Reporter Has Idea For Television Show Replacement By DICK WEST 1 tilled Press International WASHINGTON (L'PIi - It oc curred to me the other evening that "What's My Line?" can't go on forever and that eventually its going to need a replacement. When that happens. I hope to Interest the network in a televi sion game I recently invented tailed "Who Asked That?" As everyone knows, the panel ists on "What's My Line?" put on blindfolds and try to identify the mvstery guest. Well, on "Who Asked That?" the guest will put on a blindfold and try to identify the panelists. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? I qot the idea from the show from a magaiine column that answers questions sent in by cu rious readers. Some of the questions are rath er bizarre, and ac a hnhku 1 like In see if I can create situa tions to fit them. For example, a reader who gave her name as KlUn rr. shenson wanted to know "If Eliz- anetn Taylor has a mink-lined raincoat, or is that just public ity?" Mv cuess would he thai Mkc Gershenson is Miss Taylor's press agent. I'sing this as a springboard. I drew up the format for "Who Asked That?" Here's the way the program will operate: Kadi week, I. the producer, will go through the column and pick out questions for the mys tery panelists to ask on the air Then the blindfolded guest will try to guess w ho asked them. Got it? Appearing below are six ques tions I have already selected. Without peeking, see if you can identify the mystery panelists, who are listed in parentheses at the end. 1. "What actually is Averell HaiTiman's position in the Ken nedy administration?" 2. "I would like to know what position Dr. Max Adenauer, son of the West German chancellor, occupies in his father's govern ment''" 3. "Is Grace Kelly expecting hor third child as the rumors have it?" 4. "How good are the chances of Vire President Lyndon John son running for the presidency in 19ii3?" 5. "Who said, 'love is the his tory of a woman's life but only an episode in a man's?' " 6. "Is Bonita Granville Wrath- er, who is listed as associate pro ducer of the Lassie TV series. the same Bonita Granville who was a child actress in Holly wood?" il. Averell Harriman. 2. Kon rad Adenauer. 3. Prince Rainier. 4. Lady Bird. 5. John Prolumo. 6. Lassie.) There are about 12.000 Ameri cans stationed in South Viet Nam. ostensibly for training and aiding South Vietnamese forces. The continuing struggle against the Viet Cong has been overshad owed recently by the govern ment's political-religious crisis stemming from Its dispute with the country's Buddhists. Tension in the dispute was heightened by a third Buddhist priest's suicide Tuesday in pro test against the government's re ligious policies. U.S. officials expressed concern that the suicide might spur fur ther anti-government demonstra tions that could get out of hand and invite Communist exploita tion. Tuesday's suicide victim was Thich Thanh Tue, 17, a priest who drenched his robes with gas oline, set himself afire and burned to death outside a pagoda near Hue. a city 400 miles north of Saigon. It was the third such self-im molation by Buddhist clergymen since June, when members of the religion began protesting alleged persecution by Diem's govern ment. The president and many of his high officials are Roman Catholic. A Buddhist association spokes man said the young priest left notes indicating his act was a protest against the government. .:! LU.
