HERALD AND Grange Sets Service Plan FORT ROCK-Plans for com munity service activities and a report from the master, Maurice Ward, were highlights of the July session of the Fort Rock Grange. Mrs. Bud Parks was named chairman of this year's commu nity service project report. Ac tivities will be summed up for the national contest by the end of August. The committee in charge of the recent dedication of Fort Rock Cave as a national monument was extended a vote of thanks, The three members were renamed to serve as a special committee on outdoor recreation. They will seek further improvements at ' Fort Rock State Park vrtiere, at ' present, no water is furnished ; R. A. Long, and Bud Parks com prise the committee. - Ward reported that he was one of. 750 grangers who received the : sixth degree at the Oregon City state session. Many will be seek ing the seventh degree at the national grange conclave in Port- - i i r-ii - o . f P-rf dent nurse, was named first al : ' ternate in the Home Economics Scholarship Fund drawings. Re cipients of the $200 grants are named by lot. A new 50-star flag was pre sented to the grange, a gift of Williams Tire Service, Bend. On Vacation TULELAKE Municipal Judge Victoria Thaler and Mrs. Alice Barber of Tulelake, accompanied by a sister of Mrs. Barber's from Canyonville, Ore., left in Mrs. Thaler's car Wednesday morning for a two-week vaca tion in Canada.
