The day before the wedding Mrs. Ken Thomas was hostess at brunch honoring the bride and her attendants. The rehearsal dinner was held that evening at the Sportsman's Hotel and the bache lor dinner was an event of Thurs day night at the Bill Staunton home. While still in Fresno, the bride- to-be was honored by Mrs. Floyd Boyd at a shower attended by 12 classmates at Fresno Slate Col lege. On June 15 at the Tulelake, Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Wayne Waltman officiated at a double ring ceremony in which Johnelle M. Takacs became the bride of Oakley 0. Parker. The bride is tho daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Takacs Jr.. Tulelake. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs Nell Parker and the late Oakleyi Parker, Newport Beach, Calif, For the 7 p.m. ceremony the church was decorated with peach color blossoms in beauty baskets and matching tapers in tall can delabra at the altar. Pews were marked with champagne tulle bows centered with roses in oeach shade. Traditional wedding marches! were played by Mrs. Kay Paul son. Jackie Willis, Madera, Calif., classmate of the bride, sang "Climb Every Mountain" and "Plasior de Amor." John Takacs Jr. gave his daugh ter in marriage. Her gown, remi niscent of those worn at the turn of the century, was fashioned of! deep parchment colored S w 1 s s organdy with dome skirt and tunic overskirt. At the hemline of the. underskirt was a deep border ol' Alcncon lace which matched the' rose shade accented with a hat ol brighter pink and white orchid corsage. Mrs. Parker choso a beige ensemble and complemen tary orchid corsage. Following the church ceremony. guests attended tho reception at tho Tulelake fairgrounds. Mrs. Dorothy Staunton, Woodburn, was reception hostess. The pride's table was beautifully decorated with champagne color tulle and talisman roses as a back ground for the peach iced four tiered cake, topped with talisman roses. Serving cake were Peggy Takacs nd Joyce Lehman. Mary Jane Os borne and Roberta Parker presid ed at the coffee and tea services. Punch was poured by Sally An derson and Dandle Petligrew. Attending the gift table was Marilyn Mitchell and the guest book, Susan Perry. Packets of rice were given tol guests by nieces of the bride Beth Takacs and Mary Margaret McLain, and Beverly Parker and Marcia Lehman, tho hridegroom's' nieces. A decorative floral heart with col ored lights centered the East and portrayod the heart ceremony of. installation. Impressive candlelighting by Marianne Gallagher and Patty Bratton, senior princess and past honored queen of Bethel 6, open ed the ceremonies of placing the crowns and Bible, performed by Bob and Nancy Klahn. A large crowd was welcomed bv Ralph Darmody. associate uardian, and Helen McCornack, guardian, introduced Nancy Mc Clure, honored queen of Bethel 61. Queen Sally Presented the outgoing queen withi the traditional Job's doll, her pinl and arm bouquet of pink roses from the Bethel. In the retiring ceremony offi cers presented tlie roses they were carrying to Queen Sally, giving her a bouquet. At the close of the ceremonies, Helen McCornack, guardian, presented Ralph Darmody with his past associate Guardian's pin and thanked him for the Bethel. Past Honored Queen Nancy then pre sented the guardian with her past guardian's jewel, and thanked her! lor her service to the Bethel. After the ceremony, members and guests were received in the1 dining hall which was transformed into a flowing tulip garden, bloom ing in colors of pink and orange. and a model white windmill whirl ing in the south end of the hall Punch was served by Janice Mc Cornack, and coffee was poured by Mrs. Willard Ward and Mrs Leonard Allen. Following the reception a dance was held, presided over by Queen Sally, and her escort Sherm Al len. Music was provided by the Tiki's Band (Tom Carncs. Er nie Badger, and Ron Bonham.) ORION'S met at the VFW Orions met at the VFW Hall June 25 for a meeting and to do cancer dressings for local use. Those present were Mrs. Preston Card, Mrs. Neil McEach- ern. Mrs. Al Nanneman. Mrs. Carl Pcrnigotti, Mrs. Robert Pryor, Mrs. Terry St. Helairc. Charles Howard, Mrs. Myron Murray. Guests were Mrs. Alta Lovell and Mrs. George Meade. Bro- cade slippers were of matching color. Each carried a single long stemmed talisman rosebud. Davo Parker, brother of the bridegroom, Billings, Mont., was best man.
