PAGE 8 B HKRA1.D AND NETS PRODUCE SMALL HAUL Art Gerlaeh, state fish bioliogist for the Klamath area, hauls in a catch of upper Klamath Lake roach, commonly known as chub, which will be used on parasite research in the Medical Technology labs at OTI. Once a year the biologist puts out the 125-foot five-section net to catch the fish for the re search work. The net is set overnight to lessen the chance of interference from boaters. It is left from 12 to 14 hours and picked up with the catch early in the morning. r i ML .GftC? PREPARING FOR SLIDE MOUNTING Medical Technology students at OTI examine the stomach contents of this chub and prepare to identify and mount on slides any parasites found in the snails that chubs feed on. The parasites are classified with the help of the microscope one of the students uses on the right. Second year Med.
