The poor girl said she'd be happy if she could till even a 32 bra. You told her if measure ments were that important to go to a lingerie shop and treat herself to a pad ded 36. You must be nuts. What in the world would her friends say? Here this dame has been built like a flagpole all her life and suddenly she turns up looking like a Miss America. Honestly, Ann, I think you're getting too old for the job. Why don't you turn in your typewriter for a rocking chair? SUR PRISED AT YOU Dear Surprised At Me: Whether the girl is built like a Greek god dess or a 10-year-old boy is not important. What "her friends" say is equally unimportant. What is important is how the girl feels about it. Any girl who is in a state of depression because of her meas urements should do something about it. If this ridiculous thing means so much to her I say go ahead and buy some happiness. Dear Ann Landers: We have two sons, 24 and 26 years of age. We have never been rich peo ple, Ann, but we always managed to see that our boys had every thing the well-to-do boys in their crowd had. We thought it would make them happy and well adjusted. Something must have gone wrong because at this moment their wives are both living with us and the boys are living in a hotel. This has happened belore. When ever our sons have a tiff with their wives they dump them on us be cause we have a big house and the girls like my cooking. Both of these girls have mothers of their own and one lives right in town but they never go home, they always come here. My hus band says, "Isn't it wonderful that our sons' wives feel so friendly toward us?" 1 would gladly forego the com pliment if they would settle their domestic problems and stay home What should I do now? TIRED Dear Tired: You've always pulled chestnuts out of the fire for your sons and they expect II. The bost favor you can do this quartet of warriors is to insist that they take their troubles to a marriage counselor or a clergy man and get their marriages back on the track. So long as you are willing to run open house fur fighting couples you'll have room ers and boarders forever. Dear Ann Landers: Your ad vice to "Weighing and Measur ing" was right on the button. The mother wrolc that her daughter had sent for your booklet. "Neck ing and Petting" and admitted she had benefited from it. The moth er then asked if it would be ad visable to send for the "Teenagers and Smoking" booklet and "leave it around where the girl could see it." You told her no that unwant ed advice was useless and unless the girl sent for the booklet herself she would probably ignore the ad vice. How I wish my mother had had the benefit of your counsel. It has taken me nearly five years to straighten myself out. For years I rebelled against my mother's authority, and I was m deep trou ble witli myself because of it. As you know this is the worst trouble of all. i'ew people understand how too much authority can warp adoles cent thinking. Please tell them again that the parent who is too domineering and too strict can do just as much damage as the par ent who exercises no authority at all.-STILL RECOVERING Dear Still: I will keep telling them, and thank you for adding your voice to mine. To learn the knack of feeling comfortable with the opposite sex, send for Ann Landers' booklet, "How To Be Date Bait," enclos ing with your request 20 cents in coin and a long, self-addressed, stamped envelope. Ann Landers will be glad to help you with your problems. Send them to her in core of this news paper enclosing a stamped, self- addressed envelope.
