Brother, Sister Combination Wins Top Student Honors At Chiloquin Assembly CHILOQUIN A brother and sis-i ter took top student honors at the annual Chiloquin High School awards assembly on Friday night, . May 31. Barbara Nicholson was named the winner of the PTA cup for outstanding senior on the basis of four years of scholarship, citizen ship, and activities; and her broth- ler, Roger, won the Robert Musk-; .rat Trophy given on the same . basis to an outstanding lower class- .man. Their parents are Mr. and ...Mrs. Lloyd Nicholson, Fort Klam ath. Principal C. A. Samples officiat ed at the awards program. He presented perfect attendance cer- '. tificatcs to 10 students, five per cent of the student body. Kim Hale. Dennis Potter, Douglas Mo ' Intyre, Joyce and Judy Fulton, Frank Cooksey, Steve Trulove, Sheryl Logue, Ricky Chase, and yield Sherier were the recipients. Honorable mention went to Dar yl Hale, who missed one half day, and to Gordon Bettles, Randy Kii- cr, Coleta Martin, Larry Dean. Robert Bellies, Darrell Haas, Carl Jones, Carol Rogers, and Oran Miller, each of whom missed only one day. 1 Conservation awards went to Tom Van Wormer, Roger Nichol son, and Kooky tvans. .Paul un lund received an award of merit in science, and a national math honor was received by David Van Wormer. I Barbara Nicholson and Joe Kirk received certificates of merit on leadership, scholarship, and citi zenship from the Dad's Club of .Oregon Slate University. Barbara j tbIso received a certificate of mer 3t from the University of Oregon 3)ads Club as an honor student. J Delegates to Beaver Boys' State Jthis year will be Tony DiUlio.l Hocky Evans, and Donnie Taylor. I Superior ratings in girls' physi-; cal fitness exams were given to three senior high school students, Barbara Nicholson, Micki Wolff, and Rose Moiling. Eighth graders, j -Sharon Zamudio, Margaret Cole, -and Mary Brattain, received high' Gratings as did 10 seventh graders. Jj.inda Charles, Carol and Cheryl POhlund, Joyce Fulton, Anna JW'edde, Clare Sutton, Linda Van !TVormer, Sheryl Logue, Florinc and Videll Miller. Barbara Nicholson received a G.A.A. fourth award, and Micki Wolff earned an athletic letter. Girls receiving participation let ters and emblems were Donna Kirchcr, Kathy Peters, Rose Moi ling, and Phyllis Bickers. Em blems for participation were earned by Diane Haas, Jinny Doak, and Sharon Christiansen. Lcttcrmon were Tony Wilder in four sports; Albert DcHortoli Greg Harris, Joe Kirk, Tony Di- Ulio, Donnie Taylor, and Kim Hale In three sports; Amory Bet tles in two; and Glen Grain, Lyn Ilcscock, Dennis Potter, J i m Bridge, Roger Nicholson, David Van Wormer, Oran Miller, Win slow White Crain, and Doug Brat lain in one. DeBortoli and W ilder cic named outstandina athletes. A special at tendance award went to Mr. ana Mrs. H. L. Stewart. Ron Harrison presented the Jay ccc Athletic and Citizenship Award to the l'Jl)2 winner, Lylc Brewer. who in turn handed it to the winner, Greg Harris Speech awards were made by Janet Clark to students whose names had already been an nounced in county and district meets. Joe Kirk received a medal asl tudent body president and gave a gift to H. L. Sharing the co-caplain award for football were Joe Kirk and Al bert DeBortoli. and for basket ball. Greg Harris and Tony Wilder. of service to the student body Greg Harris was named the win ner of tlic annual PTA scholarship. National Honor Society mem bers received cards.
