The judges are Bob Hunt, Klamath Falls: Brunei Christensen, Likely, Calif.; and Dave Campbell, Bly. By AL GKISS Parents' Weekend on the Ore gon Tech campus was a hufie success with the weather coop- crating by and large. Parents came from all parts of Oregon and Northern California with a mother from Minneapolis winning the greatest-distance rec ognition. Parents also came from Seattle and Moses Lake, Wash Weekend activities began Fri day noon with open house in the residence halls and instructional areas during the afternoon and Saturday morning. The noon bar becue on Saturday kicked off the scheduled events. At an afternoon assembly in the theatre President Purvine welcomed the parents and the 164 student body offi cers were installed. The Oregon Tech band set the tenor for the occasion with several numbers, The Spring Formal dance in Ihe highly decorated campus gymnasium was an appropriate and fitting climax for the special occasion. Oregon Technical Institute was selected last week to conduct American College Testing Pro gram sessions for high school students or college students from the Southern Oregon Northern California area who arc required to take the tests before entering the college of their choice. This program of exchange assemblies was planned last fall at a meet ing of the Oregon Federation ol College Leaders at a confer ence held in Corvallis. Oregon College of Education presented one of the talent programs for the Oregon Tech student body last fall. The entertainment, includ ing a piano solo, banjo numbers and a folk singer, was well re ceived by the student body. Ore gon Tech students are eagerly awaiting the surprise entertain ment which Southern Oregon College will present An award assembly, to be held in the Oregon Tech theatre on Monday, June 3, will be an in novation in Oregon Tech's pro gram. Usually these awards have been presented during com mencement ceremonies; however, so many of these awards are ac cruing that a problem is created in including them in the com mencement program. Only the Great and Greatest Service awards to outstanding citizens who have made special contribu tions of some kind to Oregon Technical Institute during t h e year will remain in the com mencement ceremonies. Beaver Boys State Youth In Citizenship Beaver Boys Stale, an educa tional program sponsored by The American Legion, provides a plan for training in the functional as pects of citizenship.
