Opens Dunsmuir Pool On June 8 DUNSMUIR The Dunsmuir Communily Swimming Pool will Dpen Juno 8, according to Glen Minuth, pool director, and family season membership will again be open to those- living within the Dunsmuir recreation district. At'tho May meeting of the Dunsmuir recreation district, commissioners heard a report by Jiffies Eujol, youth activities director, on the dances and so cial events for high school and junior high school groups at the Community youth Center. Bujol termed the seventh and eighth grade response as excel lent. He said a high school group has been formed that is self governing, with adult bans only on smoking, drinking, and leaving and returning while a party is in progress. Teen-age guests living outside the district are welcome at the dances, Bujol said, but may not be members of the teen clubs. Dances for each group arc held bi-monthly at the youth cerv ter, and plans are underway for summer activities. The recreation board approved a sign prohibiting dogs not on leashes from the city park as a measure to preserve the land' scaping. Hie Ashland group will be on a get-acquainted tour' of Siskiyou County. An all-member meeting of the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce will also be held at noon at tlx: Travelers Hotel Thursday. Nom inees for officers for the coming year will be announced by Lee Huddle, chairman of the nomi nating, committee. A report on bylaws will be giv en by Peggy Walsh, chairman of hte bylaws committee. This chairmanship was named by Les Lenton, president, because a 1 1 copies of the former bylaws have been lost and the chamber Is cur rently functioning without formal organization, At a board meeting last week. Lenton reported the Siskiyou County Associated Chamber of. Commerce will meet with the Sis kiyou County Board of Super visors on May 28 to be sure suf ficient funds are left in the 1963 64 county budget to insure proper advertising and promotion of the county. and said he was sick and tired of seeing foreigners come over here iind get rich while red-blood ed Americans can't even find jobs you called him an "ignor ant malcontent." The foreigners arc the ignor ant malcontents. Thai's why they come to America. They aren't satisfied over there so they come here to get rich. These foreign pigs elbow their way In by the millions. And what do they do when they get here? They criti cize our government, our man ners, our schools and our chil dren. No matter where they came from it was always better "over there." The foreigners worm their way into factories and businesses, starting at the bottom, pretend ing to be grateful and humble, and before you know it they are in the top Jobs and the true Amer icans are out on the street. I'm In favor of shipping five million foreigners right back to where they came from and giv ing their jobs to deserving unem ployed Americans. Over the past 10 years more than 100,000 Immigrants entered this country, bringing with them skills declared to be in critically short supply In the United States. One of our most serious short ages, according to the U.S. De partment of Labor, is In the field of engineering. Of the 100,000 es pecially skilled immigrants who entered this country in the past decade 31,000 were engineers. This represents 80 per cent of the num. ber of engineers graduated from United States schools during 1961. Immigrants are making essen tial and laudible contributions to our country. They are not dis placing "true Americans" they are creating jobs for Americans by contributing to this country s economy.-R.N.W. Winnemucca Signs Voted LAKEVIEW-In order to' facili tate information on travel points and terminal of the Winnemucca- to-the-Sea Highway, the board of directors of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce voted on May 13 to spend $1,200 for the erection of signs at four points on the highway. The signs will be erected east of winnemucca on Highway 40; at the junction of Nevada 8A and 95; one at Denio: and the fourth on the Sheldon Refuge at the1 junction of 8A and the road to Cedarville. After a lunch break at 11:45 a.m., activities will resume in 'the school audi torium at 12:45 p.m. with choral and instrumental music until 2:30 or 3 p.m., according to Albert Kempton. school superintendent.
