Moriarty, Portland. The betrothal was told to friends at a dessert at the LeQuieu home on Saturday, April I 3. The future bride, presently a student at West mont College in Santa Barbara, will attend Portland State College beginning summer term. Her fiance, also a stu dent at Portland State, is employed by the Del Monte Company. No date has been set for the wedding. March 2. Mrs. Albert 0. Roe nlcke. program chairman, intro duced Mrs. Dick Henzel. who gave a most delightful program on china painting. ( hina painting has been found in Egypt dating back to the time of 3000 B.C. For centuries the knowledge of over- glaze decorations was handed down from father to son. thereb) keeping the secrets of china paint ing within families. It was not until the last century that the mysteries of china painting were revealed and became known to anyone who wishes to practice it. Mrs. Henzel. a student of Sylvia K. McMichael a local artist, teacher and author of the class room book "China Painting," stressed that it lakes a great deal of time and practice to mas ter the art of china painting. It is a most useful, pleas ing, and interesting study (or the hnbhvist. The memhers that displayed and talked about their hand-painted china were Mrs. Dick Henzel, Mrs. William U Wales Jr.. Frain marker was cordially accepted by the Klamath (ountv Court Mrs. Wright expressed gratitude to the court for the encourage ment and assistance given the chapter. Mrs. Rudolph Paygr. historian, reported that Klamath Chapter had won a S5 award from the na tional historian. The money was presented to the chapter by Mrs. Howard P. Airiest of Portland, stale historian, for 100 per cent participation in the ancestors' patriotic papers. Mrs. Arch u. Proctor. Oregon state regent. Mrs. Charles K. Wells. Klamath Chapter regent, Mrs. Rollin E. Thompson, regis trar, and Mrs. Roland E, Wright, delegate and chairman of me morial and markers, gave re ports to the members on the sixth annual Oregon State Assembly held at the University Club in Portland, March 19. Members are encouraged to participate in the "Ring Out The Bells At Noon On The Fourth of July," a reso lution given at the assembly by Mrs. John V. Richardson, national resolutions chairman of Portland. Mrs. Tom Tennery decorated the tables with May baskets. Mrs. Charles K. Weils intro duced the . guests, Mrs. B. C. Johnson. Eva Dickson and Mrs. Will Wood. Members attending were Mrs. L. B. Bartholomew, Mrs. Guy Barton, Mrs. Clifford Clay ton, Mrs. William B. DeWitt, Mrs. Reymond Hall. Mrs. Robert O.
