Order of Job's Daughters held on Monday eve ning, April 1, at the Scottish Rite Temple. Due to the illness of Honored Queen Nancy Mc- Clure, Honored Queen Patricia Bratton of Bethel No. 6 presid ed with (he guardian, Mrs. Helen McCornack, and associate guard ian. Ralph Darmody. Plans were made for a visita tion trip to the Buddy Bethel No. 11 m Bend on Wednesday eve ning, April 10. Interested girls are asked to contact the guard ian or honored queen. Reports were given on various projects; rummage sale by senior princess CCA project, and the dance to be held on April 27 at the Willard Hotel. The visitation of the grand guardian, Julia Gildner. will be an event of the next meeting on April 15, with a politick dinner SEW FOR SHOW Mrs. William Kaiser, Castella, left, and Mrs. Charles Hall, Duns muir, members of the College of the Siskiyous evening sewing class in Dunsmuir, will appear in the Dunsmuir Elementary School PTA spring fashion show Saturday eve ning, April 20. Only personally styled clothing will be featured in the show which is under the direction of Mrs. Ronald Christison. Mrs. Durward Gass, teacher, will mod erate the show. Let it dry and then cut to the required length. Elastic shrinks as soon as it gels in hot water. ANN. GIRLS I was amazed at how much elastic does shrink. Also suggest that you shrink cotton grosgrain ribbon before putting it down the center fronts of any sweaters you happen to be knit ting. POLLY. DEAR POLLY With four youngsters, we have a time keeping up with misplaced combs. To solve this problem, lake a piece of oilcloth, sew an oilcloth Printed Pattern pocket on it and make slots for the combs with rows of stitching on the big pocket in the same fashion as a shoe bag is made Trim with rickrack and tack it up in the bathroom. MRS. D. W DEAR POLLY Here is some thing we tried and found very helpful. To anchor your garbage can against strong winds or stray dogs, set it inside an old car tire. MRS. L. W. DEAR POLLY To remove corrosion from a shower head, re move it and place it in pure vine gar overnight. It will look like new. Always rememDcr to pin diapers back to front. This gives baby more leg room. M. B. DEAR POLLY It is hard to 'add to" or "lake from" a pile nf blankets because they cling to each other. I keep two pieces ol cardboard in my linen closet cut the size of the folded blan kets. When I add a blanket to the pile, it slips in easily over the cardboard. To remove one from the middle of the pile slip one cardboard below and one above the blanket wanted. The blanket slides out easily. MRS N. L. F. DEAR POLLY Would you please ask the girls if they know a method of making a door cur tain that looks like an hourglass? It is drawn together in the cen ter so as not to pull on the upper lower rod. MRS. J. K. MRS. J. K. I have made these curtains the same as any other door curtain with top and bottom rods slipped through channels made for (hem. Perhaps you are pulling yours in too tightly with the center lie-back. Loosen it a bit and see if things are not inv proved. Be sure to use flat rods with no extension. Anvbody have a Tietler idea? At a meeting held on Feb. 18. initiation was conducted with Nancy McClure. honored queen presiding. Three girls who became new members are Andrea Du Pont. Linda Bailie and Donna May. Refreshments were served to all girls and their parents with special entertainment by Stepha lie Guderian, singing, accompan-L-d by Sandra Ruconich at the ii, inn. On Sunday, Feb. 2-1. the hull ncd queen held a "Go-To-'hurch Day" and a large group if the bethel visited the First Methodist Church. Another special event was the .isitalion of line officers and lumbers to "Youth Night" onducted by Aloha Chapter. Dr ier of tlie Eastern Star, on Tucs .lay, March 26, at the Masonic femple. The bethel lurnished an .'iitertainment number with Ste phanie Guderian and Sandra Ru cunich rendering songs with an original touch to old-time songs.
