a new hank of elastic, pour boil
ing water over it. Let it dry and
then cut to the required length.
Elastic shrinks as soon as it gels

much elastic does shrink. Also
suggest that you shrink cotton
grosgrain ribbon before putting
it down the center fronts of any
sweaters you happen to be knit

To solve this problem, lake a
piece of oilcloth, sew an oilcloth

corrosion from a shower head, re

DEAR POLLY It is hard to
'add to" or "lake from" a pile
nf blankets because they cling
to each other. I keep two pieces
ol cardboard in my linen closet

kets. When I add a blanket to
the pile, it slips in easily over
the cardboard. To remove one
from the middle of the pile
slip one cardboard below and one
above the blanket wanted. The

pulling yours in too tightly with
the center lie-back. Loosen it a bit
