It was like a New Guinea jungle at Modesto Thursday where head hunting seemed to be the style of the day. That brought Dark out to ask why Weaver had not been simi larly warned. His protest resulted in the thumb. Hoeft still can't got his arm above his shoulder, bul he said it feels "100 per cent improved." Alou, hobbled by a knee sprain, took a long turn at the batting cage.
