Romney as vice chancellor for Academic Affairs for the Oregon State Sys tem of Higher Education. Dr. Romney has been a mem ber of the staff of the school of education of the University of Oregon since 1932. For the past several months he has been on leave from his position as asso ciate dean to serve on the chan cellor's staff as executive direc tor of the higher education co ordinating council for graduate study. As vice chancellor he will con tinue as executive director for Ihe coordinating council and will be responsible for interinstitution al curricular planning. He will work closely with the curriculum committee of the board of higher education. Dr. Francis Nickerson, assistant to the chancellor for curricular affairs, will assist Dr. Romney in his new role. Dr. Romney graduated from Utah State University in 1935 and received his Ph.D. degree in edu cational administration from Col umbia University in 1947. He has served on the staffs of Utah State, the University of Michigan and Wayne University. ?
