Nov. 1. in the campus YMCA building, ac cording to Alice Beard, program chairman. Six members of the group will model fashions furnished by J. C. Penney Company. All student wives and their ! guests were invited to see the ' "Fall Fashion Festival." Hazb'ms Club The Hazbins Club met Monday evening. Oct. 23. at the home of Sarah Kirby. High score for pin ochle play was held by Peggy Long, second by Sadie Wallace and low by Lola Truax. Three nun died pinochle was won by Peggy Long and Fannie May Thompson. A lovely centerpiece of pink and white carnations decorated the ta ble and the bride was presented pink rosbud corsage. Guests were served wedding cake, punch and coffee. The wedding df the former Mary Jane Tavares, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Tavares of Kal aheo, Kauai, and Cecil Bennett took place at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. A reception was held at Giwn Gardens, Kauai. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Glenn White of this city and the late Cecil L. Bennett. For her wedding, the bride1 bride chose a gown of imported white Chantilly lace with short box pleated skirt and a satin bow ac centing the low dipping back waist line. A pearl halo cap held her illusion veil and she carried a bouquet of white cattleya orchids, carnations and ivy. Gift of the bridegroom was a string of pearls and matching earrings. taffeta. Steven and Marvin Tavares, brothers of the bride, were, re spectively best man and usher. Tlic newlyweds spent their hon eymoon at Kauai Surf Hotel. Mrs. hennetl was graduated from Kauai High School and received her nurse's training at St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. The bridegroom is a graduate of KUHS and is a second class petty offi cer with the Navy at San Diego where they will reside. Willamette University's 12th an nual Parents Weekend, Oct. 20-22, featured a variety of activities de igned for parents to obtain a first-hand look at campus life. Re ceptions and informal gatherings at living organizations were in cluded. Noted on the program of Varsity Varieties, presented Fri day night, were the names of three Klamath students. John Vaagcn a member of the cast of a two-act play and Bob DePew and Vieki Howie were members of the production department. as guests of their freshmen daugh ters were Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Howie, Mrs. Dick Reeder, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Ramsdell, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Merritt, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill DePew visiting with Uieir son. Jan Baxter and Charles Russell are members ot the 100-student marching band this fall at Ore gon State University. The band will be featured during halftime at the Homecoming football game Nov. 4. Richard Waldo, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Waldo, has been elect ed vice president of the 215-voicc Oratorio- Society at Seattle Pacific College for the autumn quarter. He has also been selected for the college's 43-voice a cappella choir which annually represents Seattle Pacific during its spring tour to neighboring cities and states. Assisting Mrs. Johnson at t h e gift table were Mrs. Kenny Stey skal and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jim Havlina. Mrs. Ben Johnson presided at the coffee service and punch was served by the honoree's mother, Mrs. Chester Havlina. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. Ron McVay. Mrs. Dale Rick, Mrs. Didk Reeves and Mrs. Jerry MAIN Prosperity Chapter No. 160 honored star point officers Thursday, Oct. 12, at a regular meeting with Barbara and Bob Victorin presiding in the East as worthy matron and worthy patron. Introduced and escorted were Frances Kalina, member of Estarl Fund Committee of the Grand Chapter of Oregon, and Elmer Vincent, worthy patron of Man zanita No. 172, Klamath Falls. The worthy matron presented Frances Kalina with a beautiful I corsage which was highlighted with several Estarl stamps. A report was given on the func tions of the Estarl Committee by Mrs. Kalina who was making her official visit to Prosperity Chap ter. Estarl represents Eastern Star Training Awards in religious leadership and last year al the1 grand chapter session 28 schlol arships were awarded. An addendum was presented in honor of star point officers Ma rie Hale, Patty Schmidt, Pat Ot toman. Dorothy Hue and Jean McFall. Each was presented booklet depicting the story of her respective station as Worthy Ma tron Barbara Victorin read ap propriate verses of presentation. A report was given on a recent visit of several members to Con cordia Chapter, Madras, where Abby and John Hcrringshaw are: worthy matron and worthy patron, It was reported also that a group of members had danced the Bese- da at Myrtle Creek to honor Vir ginia Wright, grand conductress, at her reception. Thanks were extended by the worthy matron and Pat Graham, mother adviser of Malin Assem bly No. 49, to those assisting in the Rainbow hayride. Refresh-1 ments were served at the com munity hall following the hay ride. Refreshments were served by Edna Hunnicutt and Mary Sharp and a birthday contribution to ward the Estarl fund was made by members having birthdays in July, August, September and Oc tobcr. Family Meets In San Francisco The family of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Bennett of this city enjoyed a recent reunion in San Francis co. Nineteen were present for a dinner at the Officers Club on Treasure Island. Two daughters living in the area are Mrs. C. J. Bartels of San Francisco and Mrs. B. F. Schin dler of San Bruno. Completing the family circle were the Bennetts three sons. Ensign Roger Bennett, who at tended an Officers Advanced En gineering School in San Diego. serves with the 7th fleet aboard the USS Mason, louring to Japan. Keith Bennett, a retired chief yeoman, is presently in the United States from The Hague where he has been for two years with the American Embassy. Lt.
