YREKA A "hard times" par ty was enjoyed by members of the Siskiyou Court No. 100, Order of the Amaranth, following its reg ular meeting Oct. 13, in the Ma sonic Temple in Yreka. During the regular meeting oi the order, presided by Royal Matron Emma Ahlgren and Roy al Patron Jim Dow, plans were discussed on a ways and means of raising funds for the court. It was suggested to have get-togethers at homes of members, and playing cards or having some other form of entertainment, with those attending to make dona tions. Mrs. Beulah Orr offered to have the first event at her home, and Mrs. Ethel Gavin, associate matron, offered to hold the sec ond one at her home. Definite dates will be set at the next meet ing, Oct. 27. The roval matron asked the membership's pleasure on observ ing a "Co-to-Church Sunday." Members voted that the group will attend the Yreka Methodist Church on Sunday, Nov. 12. the ll a.m. service. The royal matron announced that the Friday, Oct. 27, meeting will honor all past matrons and Datrons of the Order of the Amar. anth. Visitors from other courts will be welcomed. Mrs. Ahlgren requested that all officers wear colored formals for this event. Mrs. Ahleren also announced that Roxy Ann Court, Order of the Amaranth at Medlord, was having a reception at the Masonic Temo e in Medtord tor tne occ sion of the official visit of the Grand Royal Matron Ruby Alton and Grand Royal Patron William Reed Jr., of the Grand Court of Oregon on Saturday evening, Oct, 23. Several members of Siskiyou Court indicated they are planning to attend the event, which will be preceded by a no-host dinner from 4:30 to :30 p.m After the regular session was closed on Friday night, members adjourned to the dining room where they enjoyed a supper pre pared by Mrs. Ahlgren and Mrs. Beulah "Orr. In keeping with the theme, the tables were covered with newspapers, centered with lighted candles in discarded cat sup bottles and similar containers. The decor was colorfully com pleted with autumn leaves and bouquets of Hawthorn berries and asparagus foliage. Mrs. Beulah Orr was awarded prize for the best woman's hard-time" costume, and the out fit worn by Mrs. Helen Soule won her the prize for the best man s. COMING. SLIM? S. for its regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Orton Mann. Co-hostess was Mrs. Fred Krauel. Among those present was Mrs. Philip Cole, of thi city. Oregon State dental auxiliary president. Mrs. Cole reviewed the state wide program planned to encour age better dental health. Members discussed several films on dental health, one of which will be purchased by the auxiliary next month. At this time the film will be placed in the Klamath County Health Depart ment for use by both school sys tems in their visual education program if desired. It will also be available to any organization or group wishing to use it through out the county. Plans for assisting in the ob servance of national dental health week in February were also dis cussed. During this week dentists from the Klamath County Dental Society have donated their serv ices in cooperation with the coun ty health department in promot ing better dental hygiene prac tices. This is strictly an educa tional program done at the second grade level throughout the school systems as part of their dental hygiene program.
