Circuit JudgeTialph Holman of Giegon City denied the injunction, thus uO'lding the providing of the books to parochial schools. A Red Cross volunteer taught first aid to Mrs. William Haynes of Tulelake, California, and Mrs. Haynes later '. used the training to save her child's life at Medicine Lake July 15, 1961. ANNUAL REPORT, July 1, 1960 to June 30, 1961 1,652 PINTS OF BLOOD were returned to Klamath County this past year from the Red Cross Center in Portland; this blood is used daily by the sick and injured of our commun ity. Recipients pay hospital costs of laboratory work and part of the Red Cross distribution expense, but THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE BLOOD. Hundreds of grateful pa tients say "Red Cross blood helped save my life". TWENTY RED CROSS volunteer instructors taught first aid and home nursing to 532 local residents: in every-day life or in disaster, this training saves lives! TWENTY-THREE RED CROSS volunteer ray Ladies and Social Welfare Aides helped servicemen, their families and veterans with problems caused by military service. 868 cases were served. Loans made and grants given totaled $10,060 , -and sometimes money seems a lifesaver! FOURTEEN KLAMATH FALLS teachers and parents volun teered their time freely during the school year to help 2,000 elementary school children learn service toothers arrj life saving skills in Junior Red Cross. FIFTY-FOUR NURSE VOLUNTEERS, twenty-three canteen workers, twenty-four staff aides and thirteen physician - members of the Klamath County Medical Society volun- teered thousands of hours at bloodmobile operations throughout Klamath County to collect 2069 pints of blood ... and every pint could help to save a life! SEVENTcY-ONE VOLUNTEERS gave 2426 hours to help children and adults & the Klamath Basin learn to swim and handje small craft. That is 10,000 more than in the same period a year ago. Earlier, the commission had listed the total at 210,000. But this obviously was an eri. since at tendance receipts are $4,800 more than a year ago. The commission said the error was made in the fair's money- counting department. The commission had a hot argu ment over the attendance figures Tuesday. The error in counting this year's attendance was made in figuring the Labor Day crowd, the com mission said.
