Their father, now a deputy sheriff of Los Angeles County, is a graduate of Henley High School. Mrs. Adri ene Palmer of this city is their grandmother. Bill Zumbrun and Edna Orth of Fort Klamath are great-grandparents. Defense Talk Given Club FORT JONES .On Tuesday evening, Feb. 28. at the Commu nity Center Buildine, the Fort Jones Woman's Club had the pleasure of hearing Lynn Roberts, civil defense and disaster coord inator for Siskiyou County. He gave a brief statistical re port of hospitals, first aid sta tions and fire trucks in the coun ty and brought to mind the im portance of being informed. He also showed two films, "Food for Thought" and "Radiological De fense," on individual and home preparedness for survival and protection in case of a fallout ex plosion from either atomic or hy drogen bombs, which produces ra dioactive danger and contamina tion. Informative pamphlets were passed out to the audience from the office, of Civil and Defense Mobilization. . .Mrs. Tom Cloyd, chairman of the evening, also presented an en tertaining program by students of the Fort Jones Elementary School. From Mrs. Allen Fowler's class a harmonizing trio, Diane Purdee, Susan Pindell and Kathy Newton, sang "Who Did" and 'I'm Lonesome Tonight." A square dance was performed by a set from Mrs. Frank Cra der's fifth grade. Those taking part were Kathetine Johnson, Marion Reynolds, Karln Piersall, Carol Wllluid. Jim Pindell, Win Tozier, Frank Crader and Leon ard Mason. Jack Piersall operat ed the record player. Refreshments were served by - Party Fetes Recent Bride, ' TULELAKE Mrs. Jumes B. Johnson, the former Betty Lou Havlina of Malin, was honored re cently at n miscellaneous shower in the social room of the Church of Christ. Sharon Carroll and Betty Stey skal assisted with the gifts which were displayed on a table covered with a white linen cloth. ', Hostesses wore Juanita Wood, Dorothy Manceau, Eileen D a r- row, Alici' Barbes, Lnla King, Janice Kifton, Sharon Carroll Betty SUtyskal. Wanda Hickey and Clilora urbuch. ' The refreshment table, covered w ith a lace cloth over pnle green was centered with a wedding cake made by the bride's mother. Pink rosebuds encircled the candelabra on either side. ' The cake was served by Um honor guest's aunt. Mrs. Ivan Rose. Mrs. Havlina. and Mrs, Johnson poured coffee and punch, Sharon Kafton attended the gntst book. .Games were played later in the 'Vening.' ' Mrs, Tom Cloyd and Mrs. M. J, Vardanega. , Moose Aux. Holds Meet MERRILL - Women of the Moose, Merrill Chapter, met for their regular meeting Tuesday, Feb. 28, with Elizabeth Slezak, senior regent, presiding. Reports by the publicity, mem bership, hospital and library com mittees were given. A report on the friendship din ner was given by Ruby Tschirky. She announced the next meeting of friendship will be March 9 at the home of Rose Van Meter in Malin. Jim Rodgers, junior governor, and Ray Van Meter of Lodge No. 306 invited the women to a crab feed March 18 at 8 p.m. in the Moose Hall. The women were also asked to meet with the men's executive committee March 3. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served by Rose Balcy. Hunter. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jessop of Central Valley. Bothare gradu ates of Milo Academy in Oregon. Mrs. Grace Pickthorn, Duns muir, editor of the BPW maga zine North-Wind, advised the members on the advantages of the magazine being utilized to enrich the local programs.
