MONTAGUE-Joss Brewer, pro bation officer for Siskivou Coun ty, was the featured speaker at the December meeting of the Mon tague Parent Teacher Association. Following the formal owning of the session by l-ester Owens, pres ident, Joey Weeks and Timmy Morton led in the flag salute. The Morlague School Glee Club! sang three Christmas melodies with Carolyn Havens as soloist, under the direction of Barbara Gratiot. Mrs. Susie Jones gave the inspirational message. Jess Brewer's talk w as devoted mainly to the establishment of a youth camp, and a brief discus sion on the recently constructed Graves Memorial Juvenile Hall. He stated lie was deeply inter- esled in seeing two or three coun ties jointly sponsoring a youth camp or farm for delinquent youths. Brewer also touched on the problem of menlallv-ill or retard ed children, stilting there was a surprising number of these cases in Siskiyou County in need of psy chiatric care. Members of Cub Scout Pack No. 51 of Montague, presented t h e charter to Lester Owens for the PTA, which sponsors the group. Lester Owens, principal of the Montague School, announced that Mrs. John roster would start a beginner's sewing class at the Montague School, providing at least IS poisons signed up. The course would last 12 weeks, start ing Tuesday evening, Jan. 31. It will be given under the adult edu cation program of the College of the Siskiyous. Projects of their work program for the com' tng year were the main obiee lives of the meeting. The program for 19fil under stu dy will include various phases of education, safety and health by the bureau. Promotion programs will also be sponsored on the val ue, use and consumption of lamb. dairy products, potatoes and wool promotion. At the luncheon Mrs. Francis Campbell of Henley showed her wool suit which was entered in the Farm Bureau "Make It With Wool" contest in Eugene. Linda Taylor of Henley won first prize in the junior division contest. Officers for the organization for the coming year include Mrs. Elaine Kerns, chairman: Mrs. La verne Hankins, vice chairman; Mrs. Emma Tofell, secretary, and Mrs. Iola Hankins, treasurer. A close friend, Eleanor white Sir! til's Catholic Church in Vallejo formerly of Dunsmuir and now on the morning of Dec. 17. The bride is the daughter of! Mr. and Mrs. George Walter of Dunsmuir. She. served in the Women's Air Force after gradu ation from Dunsmuir High School. The bridegroom is the son of Cecil Welch of Dunsmuir and of Benecia, was the bride's sole attendant. She wore a dress of kelly green styled similarly- to that of the bride. A' green velvet ribbon headpiece completed her attire and she carried a nosegay of white carnations.
