Dulcey Motley and Ailsa Kuy kendall, co-chairmen of the day. with their committee, decorated the tables with glittering red and green miniature Christmas trees which were flanked by sparkling red and gold pine cones. To add to the aura of Christmas a long table was piled high with gifts, donated by members, which will be sent to the children in the Shrine Hospital to help make their holiday a happy one. Members who were unable to attend the meeting and wish to donate a gift are requested to contact presi dent Jean Coddington and the gift will be picked up. Katherine Stonecypher gave an interesting report on the last cere monial held in Coos Bay Nov. 29, which was attended by the Su preme Queen. Sixteen candidates were initiated. Birthday prizes were awarded to Mae Moss and Beatrice Wilkes. Recipients of special prizes were Hester Dexter, Margaret Wirth, Dorothea Roenicke and Peggy Wie- sendanger. Directed by Mrs. Oakcs, the Altamont Junior High Chorus pro-1 Si vided the entertainment singing yf several Christmas selections. They cleared $58. Ladies high prize went to Mrs. Art Struve who also won the traveling prize. Krcd Rucck won men's high prize and Paul Monroe the traveling prize. Delicious refreshments i were served at midnight. MERRILL - At the Christmas party meeting held by the Merrill Library Club Dec. 1, nomination and election of offi cers was held. Mrs. Leda Stolt was elected president; Mrs. Mildred Poe, vice president; Mrs. Lillian Thomas, secretary; Mrs. Eva Bowman, parliamentarian; Mrs. Grace Wal ker, treasurer, and Mrs. Bea Matt son, librarian. Mildred Poe, past president, pre sented her past officers and com mittee chairmen with gifts. She was given a gift from the club. The business meeting preceded a potluck lunch enjoyed by the members and three guests, Mrs. Russell Haynes of Tulelake, Mrs. Leonard Johnson, and Mrs. Dick Reeves of Merrill.
