By HAL BOYLE NEW YORK (AP) - What till. country needs is a new play-as you-go political party that coulc make fresh promises to meet ev eryone's real needs. The election of 10 proved that. The most common remark made by the average voter aftei casting his ballot Tuesday was Ihis: "What difference does it really make to me who wins? I'll still have to work for a living." This attitude reflects a deep un derlying dissatisfaction in the electorate. They are unhappy with both the Democratic and Repub lican parties, both of which are a bit out of touch with the people's real desires. A third party perhaps to be called the True Welfare of Better World party might sweep the na tion in 1964. Here are a few suggested planks in sucti a party s national piai-form: HOUSING Two barbecue pits would be provided for every home, one in the front yard, one in the back yard. No wife would have to stay home every night unless she wanted to. If her hus band was too tired to take her out, a government-tested male es cort would be at her service one evening a week. WELFARE A free guaranteed parking space would be available without charge to every citizen and located within one-minute walking time of his job. HEALTH Federal authorities; would expend half a billion dol lars annually for the discovery of an all-purpose wonder drug that weuld cure male baldness, prevent women from wrinkling, prevent the common hangover, and enable anyone to eat as much of anything as he wanted and still keep him from gaining an ounce. JOBS No man or woman would be denied the right of working aft er 65 or forced to work before Skiers To Meet Tuesday Night Alia Mage Skiers will meet Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the air men's service club at Kingslcy Field. The meeting will serve primarily to get members ac quainted with each other. Ski en thusiasts are welcome. The ski club's name was select ed during a meeting this week, 'Alia Mage" means, incidentally, 'downhill" In Ethiopian. The club, recently organized, has 45 members so far. They elected a board of direc tors. Chairman is Bob Morice, Directors are Glenn Rinehart, Dave Grove, Cordie Strauss, George Duvarl, Maurine Morice, Max Ward, Charlotte Ward, Bob Harnish, Don Divens, Marie Div- ens, John Paxton, Mary Thors- ncss, Bill Smith, Letha Smith, Lloyd Gass, Rosie Thompson and Jim Bullock. le was 65. Pensions would begin it birth. WAGES A salary that lasted from payday to payday would be he government goal for all in lead of the present salary which only lasts from payday to the day after payday. CONDITIONS-Every office and factory would be patterned after modern progressive schools. The hired hands would do their chores in the morning, eat a free govern ment lunch, take a long nap, then spend the afternoon finger paint ing, playing hop scotch or square dancing. As a sop to manage ment, the boss would be allowed to call the tunes. YOUTH All potential teen agers would be removed to gov ernment centers at the age of 12, educated there and returned to their parents only after they had lost all interest in rock 'n' roll music. TAXES All taxes would be paid by government employes, foreign tourists, and heads of state who came here to make speeches at the United Nations. A political party with a pro gram like that surely would win hands down in 1964. It might stay in power only a few years but wouldn't they be years to remember! Another Is Held On Theft Charge Chiloquin Police Chief Lou Jones took another man into cus tody on suspicion of the burglary of the Chiloauin Citv Store on Nov. 5. Fred Ryan Hood. 25, Chiloquin, was booked at the Klamath Coun ty Jail on two counts of "burgla ry not in a dwelling." Arrested earlier on the same charge was Darralle Francis Gallagher, 18, also of Chiloquin. I he pair is charged with steal ing several cases of wine from the store.
