TA Taxpayers' Share Given WACMlVr.TnV (API t, ers provided only 55.5 per cent of the $280,578,705 in federal funds being spent on reclamation proj ects in the year ending June 30. the Interior Department says. The department, in a statement Saturday, said the remaining 44.5 per cent will come from non-tax sources. Most of this nontax money comes from the reclamation fund, which is replenished chiefly by royalties from federal oil leases and public power revenues. Proceeds from sales of public lands and timber contributed 6 per cent. The remainder came from project construction cost re payments, project operation and maintenance payments, and wa ter rentals and other miscellane ous sources. The knot is a unit of speed. Street, chairman of the Insur ance Committee, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Moore and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Weitkamp. Mr. and Mrs. Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Weit kamp took the sixth degree at the state meet. The Tulelake Grange will spon sor a public benefit card party at 8 p.m. Nov. 17 with bridge and pinochle in play at the grange hall. There will be prizes and refreshments. Pomona Grange will meet at Gazelle Nov. 10 for a 6:30 p.m. potluck and business meeting. Nov. 11 new officers of the Tule lake and Dorris granges will be installed at Dorris. About 40 members were present at the Oct. 27 meeting with Mrs. H. T. Street and Mrs. W. H. Weit kamp in charge of the potluck supper. 4-H NEWS ETNA ETNA Etna 4-H Club met for its second session of the year Oct. 24. Committees uere appoint ed for planting shrubs around the high school, for decorating for Achievement Day, the Trophy Hoard meeting and Parents Night. Nov. 5 is Achievement Day. Commit tees were formed as follows: Ruth Mathews was chairman of a committee to plan a refresh ment booth during the Etna Par ent Teacher Association carnival. Christine Sorenson was chair man of decorations for Achieve ment Day, Nov. 5. The commit tee decided to decorate tables with a cornucopia spilling vege tables and autumn leaves. Sharon Young and Christine Young are in charge of decora tions for Parents Night. Nov. 28. Clint Custer and Carl Hammond 'will handle decorations, Wendy Cassady, Sharon Young. Ruth Mathews and Christine Sorenson, program arrangements, and Eliz abeth Dudley and Sharon Hjerta ger, invitations.
